We Follow the Principles of Serving, Protecting, and Caring for Others

Real Vet Talk is a veteran non-profit organization that supports veterans by providing emotional, physical, and financial assistance. We aim to make veterans' and their families' lives easier as they navigate obstacles and are committed to providing excellent services.

Through our initiatives, group talk therapy, outdoor activities, and spiritual support, we help veterans confront and overcome the invisible injuries they carry. Our programs aim to equip them with the tools to build spiritual strength and resiliency and create a sense of community and purpose beyond their service to our country. We carry out our mission with the assistance of military personnel, veterans, spouses, and community volunteers.

CONTINUING SERVICE

We provide opportunities for our service members to continue their calling to serve others in their community.

COMMUNITY

We provide mentorship opportunities and resources to veterans and their families and transitioning military personnel.

PROGRAMS

Our resiliency and faith-based programs are designed to facilitate the growth and strength of veterans.

Mental illness has strong links to suicide among Veterans. The more common mental disorders among Veterans are PTSD and depression. For example, exposure to trauma or suffering a TBI while in the service can lead to an increased risk of both substance misuse and PTSD or depression. Over time, the cumulative strain magnified by occupational stress and exposure to trauma negatively impacts the mind, body, and soul of our nation’s military/veteran unit, resulting in extremely high levels of mental illness, abnormal divorce rates, and increased rates of suicide.

The suicide rate for veterans is 1.5 times higher than that of the general population, and where on average, 24 veterans commit suicide each day.
